Fee: Participation fee 30 EUR for each participant is payable on the day of the competition
PURPOSE OF THE COMPETITION
• Strengthening friendly relations between athletes
• Promoting a healthy lifestyle and sports
• Popularization of martial arts and Kyokushinkai karate in Latvia
• Identifying the strongest athletes among children, teenagers and adults

2 KUMITE-FULL CONTACT FIGHT RULES The fights will be held according to Kyokushinkai karate kumite rules. Allowed: Leg kicks at Gedan level (Low Kick) are allowed for all categories. Up to U18 only controlled kicks with feet at Jodan level (Semi Contact). Punches with hands and elbows on the body are allowed (at Chudan level). Prohibited: Up to U18, all straight kicks to the head with the leg (Mae Geri, Joko Geri), as well as kicks without control (through) and kicks with knees to the head (Hiza Geri) are prohibited. Hand and elbow strikes to the head are prohibited (at Jodan level). Catching, throwing and holding the opponent, kicks to the genitals, back and legs are prohibited.
COMPETITION PARTICIPANTS Athletes born in 2017 and older can participate in the competition, which will be divided into groups by gender and subgroups by age and weight. Category
At the decision of the organizer of the championship, due to the small number of participants in the subgroup, the categories can be combined or changed. Age and weight categories will be formed on the day of the competition in accordance with the submitted data. The submitter is responsible for the accuracy of the data. Due to reasonable suspicion, the participant may be subject to a control check by weighing on the spot. If it results in a weight greater than 2.5 kg, the participant will be disqualified.
3 PROGRESS OF FIGHTS The competition will take place on 2 tatami mats. From U-8 to U-12 The match will last 1.30 minutes of regular time 1 minute of extra time From U-14 –U18 The fight will last 2 minutes of regular time 2 minutes of extra time In a case of draw the sportsman who is lighter in weight will be announced a winner if weight difference is more than 3 kg. With weight difference of less than 3 kg, 2 additional minutes will be allowed. 18+ The match will last 3 minutes of regular time 2 minutes of extra time In a case of draw the sportsman who is lighter in weight will be announced a winner if weight difference is more than 5 kg. With weight difference of less than 5 kg, two additional minutes will be allowed.
KATA COMPETITION From U-8 to U-10 participants will compete in the following - KATA: Taikyoku 1,2,3. For 1st place - Pinan Sono Ichi. From
U-12 to U-14 participants will compete in the following KATA: Taikyoku 1,2,3, Pinan Sono Ichi. For 1st place- Pinan Sono Ni
U-16 participants will compete in the following –KATA: Pinan 1,2,3. For 1st place - Pinan 4.5.
U-18 participants will compete in the following - KATA: Pinan 2,3,4. For 1st place - Pinan 5, Tsukino, Yantsu.
4 GENERAL RULES Each athlete must wear a white do-gi during the competition, a belt corresponding to their qualification, individual leg protectors, a groin guards under the kimono (for men/boys), a chest protector (for women/girles) that does not cover the solar plexus. Soft hand protection. Head protection is provided by the organizers. PRIZE WINNERS 1st place - cup, medal and certificate 2nd place - medal and certificate 3rd place - medal and certificate
SPECIAL PRIZES 1. 1 - cup, best technique 2. 1 - cup, the shortest fight 3. 1 - cup, fighting spirit of Kyokushinkai JUDGMENT Judges Team will be formed at place. Each club or federation shall provide one or more-line judges and referee.
