An OPEN tournament for all participants, regardless of country/nationality (not limited for the European Countries) or Organization affiliation. The deadline for applying is August 1, 2024.

2. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
September 6, 2024 (Friday) – check-in of teams, competitors’ registration, weighing (10:00 – 17:00), Official meeting with team representatives and referees (17:00-18:00), Kata judging seminar (18:00 – 19:00), Kumite judging seminar (19:00 - 20:00).
September 7, 2020 (Saturday) – Kata (all rounds), Kumite: preliminary bouts. Competition starts at 10.00.
September 8, 2020 (Sunday) – Official opening ceremony, competitors’ parade (11:00). Kumite: semi-finals and finals. Prize-giving ceremony.
September 9, 2024 (Monday) – check-out of teams.
Full schedule will be provided when registration will be closed.

4. COMPETITION PROGRAM
Competitions will be conducted by the rules of Kyokushin-kan International in the following disciplines, age, gender, and weight categories:
The age of the athlete will be taken in consideration with the day of the credentials committee, i.e., September 6, 2024.

5. REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPETITORS AND CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION OF COUNTRY TEAMS/ORGANIZATIONS AND ATHLETES TO THE COMPETITION
National teams of both member organizations of Kyokushin-kan International Karate-do Organization and of other organizations of WORLDWIDE COUNTRIES are admitted to the competitions.
The composition of a team in terms of ‘team official / coach / numbers of competitors’ is the sole responsibility of the registered countries and their organization/s representatives.
Judges – The organizing committee is kindly asking for your assistance for the refereeing/judging part of the competition. Any team members from your country with the experience of refereeing competitions of international level are welcomed.
Competitors’ quota
Each country can be represented by as many competitors they want to register in each category for both kumite and kata.
For Kumite and Kata competition of 2024 OPEN KYOKUSHIN-KAN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN KUMITE AND KATA AMONG CADETS AND YOUTH (12-17 YEARS), are allowed only participants aged 12 years and older but under 18 years on the day of the credentials committee, i.e., September 6, 2024. The Organizers are not limiting the participation for the championship based on Kyokushin qualification (grade – i.e., 6-5 kyu etc.). This is the sole responsibility of each country team representative/coach.
For Kumite and Kata competitions of 2024 OPEN KYOKUSHIN-KAN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN KUMITE AND KATA AMONG MEN AND WOMEN, are allowed only male and female participants aged 18 years and older on the day of the credentials committee, i.e., September 6, 2024. The Organizers are not limiting the participation for the championship based on Kyokushin qualification (grade – i.e., 6-5 kyu etc.). This is the sole responsibility of each country team representative/coach.
6. DOCUMENTS TO BE PROVIDED
The representative of the team is obliged to submit to the credentials committee the original application for the team in printed form in English, certified by the signature and seal of the representative of the country (CR, BC), the signature and seal of a sports doctor, certifying the admission of each athlete. The number of eligible participants in the application is indicated in words and is certified by the signature and personal seal of the sports doctor, and the seal of the sports clinic.
Each competitor of the 2024 KYOKUSHIN-KAN EUROPEAN JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP IN KUMITE AND KATA AMONG COMPETITORS UNDER 18 YEARS (12 – 17 YEARS) at the time of passage of the credentials committee must have the following documents:
- PASSPORT IN ORIGINAL AND ONE COPY.
- Sports passport of the established form (unless the specified passport is not issued for reasons beyond the control of the athlete).
- A document confirming the style qualification (budo passport etc. unless this was not issued for reasons beyond the control of the athlete).
- Accident insurance contract valid at the time of the competition (original and one copy, in English or Romanian).
- Sports doctor’s medical clearance, issued individual or as team application and confirmed by personal seal of the sports doctor and seal of the sports clinic, no more than 15 days before the start of the competition.
- The competitor's parents’ agreement for the participation of their child in 2024 KYOKUSHIN-KAN EUROPEAN JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP IN KUMITE AND KATA AMONG COMPETITORS UNDER 18 YEARS (12 – 17 YEARS) and the waiver of any claims/complaints against the organizers of the Championship in the event of the participant being injured – signed IN ORIGINAL.
Each competitor of the 2024 OPEN KYOKUSHIN-KAN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN KUMITE AND KATA AMONG MEN AND WOMEN at the time of passage of the credentials committee must have the following documents with him:

- The competitor's parents’ agreement for the participation in 2024 KYOKUSHIN-KAN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN KUMITE AND KATA AMONG MEN AND WOMEN, and the waiver of any claims/complaints against the organizers of the Championship in the event of the participant being injured- signed IN ORIGINAL.
7. EQUIPMENT
Each participant admitted to the competition must have white dogi and a belt corresponding to his Kyokushin qualification.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
- individual groin guard is mandatory for all male competitors; female competitors may use the groin guard at their will.
- breast protector of a standard type is mandatory for all female competitors. The breast protector is to meet the following requirements: the upper edge of the breast guard shall be at the height of the second ribs, the lower edge shall be not lower than the costal arches, the side edges shall be not wider than the forward axillary lines; the rigid protector shall guard at least bosoms; the breast guard shall not have open plastic elements.
- shin protectors with the protection of the rise of a foot are obligatory for all JUNIOR categories (see examples below).Protectors for shin and arch of the foot shall be made as elastic stockings of white color with the sealant not thicker than 1 cm. The use of plastic protectors and inserts is prohibited.
- fist protectors (gloves) are mandatory for all JUNIOR categories. The gloves shall be made as elastic stockings of white color with fingers cut off with the sealant not thicker than 1 cm. or the five fingers Karate glove (see examples below). The use of plastic protectors and inserts is prohibited.
- a helmet of the standard type, with/without chin protection, is mandatory for all CADETS and YOUTH (12-17 years) categories.
- mouthpiece (oral protector) is optional for all categories, except when the athlete wears braces and become MANDATORY.
In case of violation of any of these clauses the competitor will not be admitted to the championship.
Each competitor must provide the original accident insurance contract valid on the days of the championships (in Romanian or English).
Foreign participants are required to have international sports insurance issued in the country of residence and valid in Romania (in English).
In the absence of insurance, participants are not allowed to compete.
9. THE ORDER OF WINNER DETERMINATION
All athletes are obliged to present themselves at the designated Tatami within 1 min. Failure to appear on the tatami within 1 minute, after the announcement of his/her name, the athlete shall be credited with defeat.

Semifinal and final bouts: 3 minutes + 2 minutes + 2 minutes – weighting
(the difference in weight shall be 5 Kg or more) – in case of a tie + 2-minutes Enchosen (last round with mandatory decision by judges)
Women
Preliminary bouts: 2 minutes + 2 minutes – weighting (the difference in weight
shall be 3 Kg or more) – in case of a tie + 2-minutes Enchosen (last round with mandatory decision by judges).
Semifinal and final bouts: 3 minutes + 2 minutes + 2 minutes – weighting
(the difference in weight shall be 3 Kg or more) – in case of a tie + 2-minutes Enchosen (last round with mandatory decision by judges)
KATA
The winner is determined by counting the points earned minus the highest and lowest marks of the judges.
First round will be noted from 6 to 7 with units from 1 to 9 (i.e. 6.0-6.1….6.9-7.0).
Second round will be noted from 8 to 9 with units from 1 to 9 (i.e. 8.0-8.1…8.9-9.0).
Final round will be noted from 9 to 10 with units from 1 to 9 (i.e.9.0-9.1….9.9-10).
8 competitors who score the most points in the first round of the compulsory program are admitted to the second round.
4 competitors who score the most points in the second round of the compulsory program are admitted to the finals.
In the case of the same number of points scored the order of the winner determination is as follows:
- precedence is given to the competitor who had the highest score for the last performance
If still a tie:
- precedence is given to the competitor who had a higher score by the chief referee.
10. REWARDING
In KUMITE competition a set of 4 medals is awarded in each category (first place, second place and two third places).
In KATA competitions a set of 3 medals is awarded in each category (first place, second place and one third place).
To establish a team top ranking, the points of team members in all kumite weight categories and kata are counted: for the 1st place 3 points are awarded, for the 2nd place - 2 points, for the 3rd place - 1 point. In case of equality of the total score for
2 or more teams, the advantage is given to the team which won
more 1st places, then 2nd places are considered, and lastly – 3rd places.
Prize-winners of competitions are awarded with medals, trophies, and diplomas of the corresponding place.
11. FINANCING
Entry fee for all participants of the Championships is 50 euros per person (50 Euro for Kumite/ 50 Euro for Kata).
Financing for organizing the Championships, including awards, is carried out by the Kyokushin-kan Romania with sponsorship investments.
Financing of the Championships participants, including travel, meals, accommodation costs, is carried out by each registered athlete/country team/organization.
