Kyokushin-Kan Romania, Branch Chief - Sensei Catalin Mocanu and Sport Club Catalin Mocanu Academy, present their compliments and respect to you and your Sport Clubs that you represent and has the honor of invinting you at the 4th edition of the Martial Arts event and tournament:
„The LIONS CUP - CHAMPIONS CUP”
sport event opened to ALL KYOKUSHIN KARATEKAs and Martial Arts practitioners, no matter of their affiliation to an organization.

The tournament will be held under Full Contact Kumite Knock Down – Kyokushin-kan Karate rules.

Kind reminder, this Martial Art event is OPEN TO ALL KYOKUSHIN KARATEKAs and MARTIAL ARTS PRACTICIONERS, regardeles of their affiliation. The event will be with age and weight categories for children, juniors and adults, only for KUMITE KNOCK DOWN KYOKUSHIN KARATE.

SATURDAY, APRIL 4, 2026
07:30- 09:00 – Registration and weight-in for athlets that will arrive directly at the Sports Hall - Google maps – Sala Polivalenta Giurgiu
09:15 – 9:30 - Official meeting of the competition with coaches and presenting the referees teams.
09:30 – 10:00 Official opening ceremony.
10:00 – Start of the competition and fight bouts.

Entry fee for participating at the - „The LIONS CUP - CHAMPIONS CUP’’: 250 LEI (50 Euro)

Following documents are required for registration

· ID Copy for athlets over 14 years of age and Birth Certificate/Passport copy for children under age of 14

· Registration form and parental consent for minors (under age 18) - please request them via email to catalinmocanuacademy@yahoo.com

· Medical statement that the athlet is healthy, has not restriction for physical effort and allowed to participate in Martial Arts competition

TOURNAMENT BASIC RULES AND REGULATION DURING THE EVENT

1. This Martial Art event has only one probe -: FULL CONTACT KUMITE KNOCK DOWN – Kyokushin Karate rules.
2. All competitiors will wear their own belts, SHIRO (white) si AKA(red) will be diferentiate by the red ribbon worn by AKA. The referees’
3. And athlete may register at his own desire or at the reguest of the coach/instructor to a different category but he cannot longer register on his own weight and age category (for example – a 14 yrs old may be registered to 16 yrs old category, a junior 17 yrs old may be registered on an adult categoru)
4. Each participating Sports Club Association is responsible for ensuring protection for its competitors (shins, gloves, shell (boys), chest protection (girls), helmet).
5. It is not allowed to bandage the fists in the first round of Kumite, and from the second round this is done after the approval of the competition doctor.
6. The regulations for the first edition of the LIONS CUP, "champions cup" do not require the mandatory protection of the chest-abdomen (plate). This is optional and only for children aged 6-9, boys and girls.
PLEASE BE ADVISED!!! In case of a tie after the first half of the fight, the competing athlete who wore the breastplate will lose the fight.
Shin pads for Senior Girls are allowed.. Groin protection is mandatory for all categories of boys. Groin protection is mandatory for all boys and men categories.
7. Pentru categoriile For the categories of children and juniors, 6-16 years old, the refereeing of the Kumite contest will be based on full contact principles.

PLEASE BE ADVISED!!!

For children 4-17 years - Gedan/Jodan direct kicks are NOT ALLOWED: Mae Geri Chusoku / Kakato, Yoko Geri Sokuto , Uchi/Soto Oroshi Keage, Hiza Geri Jodan.
Round kicks are ALLOWED: Ushiro Mawashi Geri, Uchi / Soto Mawashi Geri, Mawashi Kaiten Geri, etc.
8. The body weight of the competitors registered for Kumite must be exact. For the false declaration of weight (difference of 1 Kg for children and 2 Kg for adults), the competitor will be disqualified, or will enter the fight with GENTEN. The decision on this fact belongs to the Referees Commission.
9. Techniques for catching/hanging the opponent are not prerequisites for any category.
10. THE DECISIONS OF THE ARBITRATION TEAM ARE FINAL. A complaint against a decision of the referees appointed at TATAMI must be made through an official appeal submitted to Sensei Catalin Mocanu who, as the organizer, represents the supreme authority over the entire competition, being seconded by Shihan Ionel Stancu.

Ø Kumite MIXT BOYS and GIRLS 4-5 years: - 20 kg , - 25 kg, +25 kg

Ø Kumite BOYS 6 years: -20 kg, - 25 kg , -30 kg ,+30 kg.

Ø Kumite GIRLS 6 years: -20 kg,- 25 kg , +25 kg .

Ø Kumite BOYS 7 years: -25 kg, - 30 kg , -35 kg ,+35 kg.

Ø Kumite GIRLS 7 years: -25 kg,- 30 kg , +30 kg .

Ø Kumite BOYS 8 years: - 30 kg , - 35 kg , - 40 kg , + 40 kg.

Ø Kumite GIRLS 8 years: - 25 kg , - 30 kg , - 35 kg , + 35 kg.

Ø Kumite BOYS 9 years: - 30 kg , - 35 kg , - 40 kg , - 45 k,+45 kg..

Ø Kumite GIRLS 9 years: - 30 kg , - 35 kg , - 40 kg , + 40 kg.

Ø Kumite BOYS 10-11 years: - 35 kg, - 40 kg, - 45 kg, -50 kg,+50 kg

Ø Kumite GIRLS 10 – 11 years: -30 kg, - 35 kg, - 40 kg, - 45 kg, + 45 kg.

Ø Kumite BOYS 12 - 13 years: -35 kg ,- 40 kg , - 45 kg , - 50 kg ,-55 kg, + 55 kg.

Ø Kumite GIRLS 12 – 13 years: -35 kg, -40 kg, - 45 kg, - 50 kg , + 50 kg.

CADETS

Ø Kumite BOYS 14 – 15 years: -50 kg, - 55 kg, - 60 kg, - 65 kg, + 65 kg.

Ø Kumite GIRLS 14 – 15 years: -45 kg ,- 50 kg, - 55 kg + 55 kg

JUNIORS

Ø Kumite BOYS , 16 – 17 years: - 60 kg, - 65 kg, - 70 kg, - 75 kg, +75 kg.

Ø Kumite GIRLS 16-17 years: - 55 kg, - 60 kg, + 60 kg.

ADULTS

Ø Masculin: -70 kg, -80 kg , + 80 kg.

Ø Feminin : - 60 kg , + 60 kg.

All fighters under 10 years old will be awarded - for this age and weight categories there will be maximum 4 competitors per category.

In the categories in which only 2 athletes are registered, they will be moved to a higher/lower weight category, with the approval/acceptance of the coaches.
In the categories in which only 3 athletes are registered, they will fight in a tournament system (each against each). In case of equality between the three athletes, the first tie-breaking criterion will be weight (the athlete with the lowest weight wins), the second criterion being the direct match between the competitors.
The weight categories have been established INDICATIVELY. Depending on the number of registered athletes and the need to change the weight category, this will be done in collaboration with the coaches/instructors of the sports club associations registered in the competition.

FIGHTING TIME FOR EACH AGE CATEGORY:

Children 6-9 years - 1 min - 30 sec - Weight ( 2 kg ) - 30 sec

Children 10-13 years - 1:30 sec - 1 min - Weight ( 2 kg ) - 1 min

Cadets 14-15 years - 1:30 min - 1:30 min - Weight ( 2 kg ) - 1 min

Juniors 16-17 years - 2 min - 2 min - Weight ( 3 kg ) - 1 min

Adults - 2 min - 2 min - Weight ( 3 kg ) - 2 min

In the preliminary rounds, the referees teams will try to establish their decision from the first round. Only in cases of undoubted equality, an additional round is granted. This rule does not apply to the semifinals or finals, for each age and weight category.
